How Much Detergent to Use in Front Loaded High Efficiency Washers

High efficiency fron loaded washers use less water per wash. They provide gentle agitation and are more gentel for clothes. As this high efficiency wahser use less water needs less detergent to clean, so the ratio of detergent to water is balanced. 

Thus use of more detergent may result in sticky residue. 

How Much Detergent to Use in Top Loaded Standard Washers

Top loaded washers have central agitation and handles lot of water to lift the stains. traditional washers more aggressively washes the clothes giving more uniform cleaning, as the garments are submerged inside the washing solution. 

Accidental usage of more detergent in top loaded washers need not be harmful as it has high water to detergent ratio. Excessive use of detergent in top loaded washers is washing the product down the drain.

Quantity of Detergent to use

Take a 1/4th cup for standard load (1/2 cup for soily load)

For soft water

Reduce the quantity to half of the quantity mentioned above.
